For the 33rd time, the readers of “sport auto” voted for the sportiest cars of the year. Due to this long tradition and the consistently high number of participants, the award is considered one of the most prestigious in Germany’s automotive industry. “We are particularly pleased about these awards because they come from the readers and thus our customers – a heartfelt thank you for that,” says ABT CCO Daniel Abt. “It is also a wonderful recognition and at the same time an incentive for our designers and engineers, who are never satisfied with any second-best solution.”
Readers were particularly impressed by ABT's technical expertise: more than 51 per cent of all votes in the “Best Engine Tuning” category went to the brand from southern Germany. No wonder: the tailor-made engine upgrade, including a substantial increase in performance for a wide range of Volkswagen Group models, is one of the bestsellers. At the end of October, many customers took advantage of the “ABT Power Days” promotion to have their performance boosted directly in Kempten or at one of the many ABT partners in Germany.
Almost half of all readers who took part in the vote and chose winners in a total of eight tuning categories consider ABT to be the best brand in the “Best Visual Tuning” category. With spectacular aerodynamic components, impressive exhaust technology, a high-end range of rims and high-quality interior refinements, very special cars are created in Kempten. The crowning glory of individuality are the unique pieces from the ABT Interior Individual Programme.
The victories in both the compact car and SUV categories demonstrate the breadth of ABT Sportsline’s vehicle range: readers voted the ABT RS3-R* in the Sportback variant and the ABT RSQ8 Legacy Edition** to the top of the rankings. The RS3-R, with 510 hp and numerous technical and spectacular visual refinements, was presented in March 2025 and is also available as a saloon. The ABT RSQ8-LE, limited to 125 units, is considered the ultimate high-performance SUV and completes the Legacy Edition series, which also includes the RS6-LE and RS7-LE.
